When should I contact a notary?

As soon as you realize you need a neutral third party witness or that your document must be notarized. Many people delay or put off going to get something notarized because they don't know where one is, or they think it may cost too much. We can discuss your personal or business's organizational needs, with prompt professional service and very affordable prices.

How can I know which notarial act do I need?

We are not attorneys nor do we practice law. We cannot tell you which notarial act you should perform. Please consult with legal counsel.

The difference between an Acknowledgment and a Jurat

Acknowledgment is a certificate that indicates that you are the signer of the document and you have been positively identified.

A jurat îs issued after the notary places you under oath, for the accuracy of your statements in your document.

A notary is not responsible for the accuracy or truthfulness of your document.

Notarys DO NOT CERTIFY DOCUMENTS OR COPIES OF BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR AN GOVERNMENT ISSUED DOCUMENTS.

Notaries can only certify copies of a power of attorney that they copied or a copy of a journal entry. Please don't ask.

What type of ID do I need?

In California, acceptable forms of identification for notarization include

  1. state issued current driver's license or identification card,
  2. Any form of inmate identification issued by a sheriff’s department, if the inmate is in custody in a local detention facility.
  3. A valid consular identification document issued by a consulate from the applicant’s country of citizenship, or a valid passport from the applicant’s country of citizenship.
  4. A driver’s license issued by another state.
  5. An identification card issued by another state.
  6. A United States military identification card (with the required information as stated above).
  7. An employee identification card issued by an agency or office of the State of California, or an agency or office of a city, county, or city and county in California.
  8. An identification card issued by a federally recognized tribal government.or other government-issued IDs that contain a photo, signature, and identifying number.

If you do not have a valid ID, you may use two credible witnesses who can verify your identity with their own valid IDs.

How much will this cost?

The cost of notarization in California is $15.00 per signature.

Travel fees are flexible depending on how far the trip is round trip and must be paid 1 hour before departure for general notarizations.

Special circumstances will be made for nursing facilities and hospitals.

Court running/filing, services must be paid at the time of pick up. Monthly billing on volume only. No exceptions.
